A Tribute to the Mind
I haven’t quite summoned the strength to get along with my blog plan. In fact I’ve grown weaker. I’ve mentioned I’m disabled, and that its degenerative – affecting in part, the brain as well. Truth be told, my head has received a fair bit of punishment over the years, accumulating bumps of various sizes. I sometimes think I’ve been poisoned on occasion. It’s a very easy paranoia to imagine, since people do get poisoned, and it sometimes even makes the papers. There are places I won’t go to, and people I won’t have serve me. It could only be that, but because of the degenerative disease, it might not be.
Paranoia is interesting, but I really only have Dana Fortune’s advice. He says that the best way to guard against spiritual meddling is to stay busy. I came to this way of thinking from a couple of different paths, but I remember this book the most clearly. The aeroplane experience I’ve mentioned elsewhere was another path. In a way, the antidote to paranoia, or anxiety generally, is much like the antidote to ego inflation by way of religious belief: consider that none of it is real. That is not the same thing as not believing it.
