Not allowed to quote lyrics and stuff.
I just found out that it’s illegal to quote lyrics. I have to scrap a whole bunch of blog posts now. Blockages like this just cripple me. I can’t function with hinderance. Other people can. They just do. Like insects. I’m the outlier. Burdened by obstacles. Virtually nothing else is. Planets aren’t. The sun doesn’t care. Elements don’t. Ignorance really is bliss. It was Orwell’s thinker who was tortured. The proletariat just sang their happy tunes. Death is death. It’s coming for us. You’d be lucky… Well I can’t quote that one. All the bright colours of music that hop about accompanying my thoughts can’t be written down. Fine. I don’t care, but it’s worse than that. Eventually, there won’t be any utterance that can be spoken. People’s thoughts will have been straight-jacketed. Finished. Over.
RMS had his moments, you know, but it’s a quandary. We have to earn a living, and we live in a system of control. I can’t just graze the fields like a cow, but if I did, I’d be used, or moved on, or killed. Those are the options. We are too big to be ignored. Remember that? “Too big to fail”. That was the beginning of the end, for sure. The end of critical comedy. The end of righteous indignation as humour. The end of the last shred of fancy. Now it’s all accounting, every last bit of it.
